Terms of Use

Effective 18 October 2026

These terms apply to the Moneto app for iPhone (“Moneto”) and this website. By downloading or using Moneto you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.

1. Licence

Moneto is licensed, not sold, to you under Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the standard EULA), together with these terms. If the two conflict, the standard EULA applies.

2. What Moneto is — and isn’t

Moneto is a personal tool for recording and reviewing your own spending and income. Balances, charts, insights and reports are calculated only from what you enter. Moneto is not a bank, a financial adviser or an accounting service, and nothing in the app is financial, tax, investment or legal advice. Check important figures against your bank and card statements.

3. Moneto Plus

Moneto is free to download and use. Moneto Plus is an optional upgrade that unlocks extra features (such as Cash flow and Compare, tags, the Year view and every highlight, PDF reports, unlimited accounts and recurring items, premium app icons and iCloud backup when available). Recording entries, a bank account, two cards and a cash account, categories, Trends and exporting your data stay free. If Plus ends, nothing you created is removed; only adding more is limited.

4. Your data and backups

Your data lives on your iPhone (see the privacy policy). You’re responsible for keeping copies you care about — for example with Settings → Export CSV. If you delete the app, erase its data or lose your device without a backup, your data can’t be recovered by us, because we never have it.

5. Acceptable use

Don’t use Moneto for anything unlawful, and don’t try to copy, reverse-engineer or redistribute the app except as the law allows.

6. Availability and changes

We work to keep Moneto reliable and may add, change or remove features through App Store updates. We don’t guarantee the app will always be available or free of errors.

7. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Moneto is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, and we aren’t liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for lost data or money, arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can’t be excluded.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, we’ll change the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Moneto after an update means you accept the new terms.
