Privacy Policy
- Moneto doesn’t collect, sell or share your personal data. We have no servers and you don’t create an account.
- Everything you log stays on your iPhone, in the app’s own storage, under your control.
- There are no ads, analytics or tracking tools in the app, and it never connects to your bank.
1. Who we are
This policy covers the Moneto app for iPhone (“Moneto”, “the app”) and this website. “We” and “us” mean the developer of Moneto. You can reach us at lavanyareddy.tatiparthi@gmail.com.
2. What we collect
Nothing. Moneto has no servers, no user accounts and no sign-in. The app doesn’t send your entries, accounts, amounts or any other personal information to us or to anyone else. It contains no advertising, analytics, crash-reporting or tracking software, and it doesn’t use your location, contacts, photos or microphone.
On the App Store this is shown as “Data Not Collected”.
3. Data on your device
What you enter — entries (expenses, income and transfers), amounts, notes, accounts and their opening balances, categories, tags and recurring items — and your settings (currency, first day of the week, appearance, app lock) are stored only on your iPhone, in the app’s private storage. iOS protects this storage with your device passcode.
Moneto never connects to banks, cards or payment services, and never reads your SMS or email.
4. iCloud backup
A future version may offer an optional iCloud backup, off by default. If you turn it on, a copy of your data is stored in your own private iCloud database by Apple, so it can come back if you reinstall the app or move to a new iPhone. That data is tied to your Apple Account and governed by Apple’s privacy policy; we can’t see or access it.
5. Permissions
- Face ID / passcode — only if you turn on the app lock. iOS checks your face or passcode; the app never receives your biometric data or passcode, only a yes/no result.
- Notifications — only if you create a recurring item that reminds you. Reminders are scheduled on your iPhone; nothing is sent from a server.
6. Exports and imports
CSV exports and monthly PDF reports are created on your iPhone only when you ask, and go only where you choose to send or save them (for example Files, Mail or AirDrop). Once you share a file, the app you share it with handles it under its own policy. Importing reads only the CSV file you pick.
7. Feedback and support
If you choose “Send feedback” or “Report an issue”, your email app opens a message to us, prefilled with the app version, iOS version and device model so we can help. Nothing is sent unless you send the email. We use what you write only to reply to you and to improve Moneto, and we don’t share it. You can ask us to delete your messages at any time.
8. Apple and the App Store
Moneto Plus purchases are made through Apple’s App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never receive your name, email, card details or Apple Account information. The app only asks the App Store whether Plus is active on this device, and remembers the answer on your iPhone so Plus works offline.
Apple handles app downloads, purchases and updates under its own privacy policy. If you’ve chosen to share analytics with app developers in iOS Settings, Apple may give us anonymous crash reports and aggregated usage statistics. These don’t identify you and don’t include anything you’ve logged in Moneto.
9. Children
Moneto isn’t directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). Because the app collects no personal data, it doesn’t knowingly collect data from children.
10. Deleting your data
In the app, Settings → Erase all data deletes everything from your iPhone. Deleting the app does the same. If you turned on iCloud backup, you can remove that copy in iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Storage.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU/UK or the CCPA in California), you have rights to access, correct, delete or move your personal data, and to object to how it’s processed. Because your Moneto data never leaves your device, you can exercise these rights directly in the app — view and edit any entry, export it as CSV, or erase it. We don’t sell or share personal information. For anything else, contact us.
12. This website
This website uses no cookies, analytics or third-party scripts and loads no outside fonts. It is hosted on GitHub Pages; like any web host, GitHub may record technical information such as your IP address in server logs for security purposes, under the GitHub Privacy Statement. We don’t receive or use those logs.
When you open Settings → Privacy policy in the app while online, the app loads this page from the website so you always see the latest version. It sends nothing about you or your data, and keeps no cookies. Offline, the app shows the copy saved inside it.
13. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update it here and change the date at the top. If a change affects how your data is handled, we’ll also mention it in the app’s release notes. We will never start collecting your data without asking first.
